Your body goes through profound changes during and after pregnancy. Massage can support pregnant women through this amazing period of transformation by helping to alleviate pregnancy related problems and most importantly by providing a space where the nurturer can feel nurtured.
Massage can be beneficial both physically and emotionally allowing you to have time for yourself and to connect with your baby. It may also help to soothe and release aching muscles which can be caused by common pregnancy discomforts such as back ache, swollen ankles and leg cramps.
Comfortably lying on your side on a massage table or futon, you will have lots of cushions to support you and your bump. This one hour session will loosen muscles using massage, stretching and mobilisation techniques, helping to improve circulation, release muscles and give you a sense of deep relaxation.
Post natally, massage can help with your recovery and later on can help to release shoulder and neck tension caused by holding and nursing your baby.
